Our mission is:
To teach skills for jobs to the poorest of poor young adults in Bududa through our
Bududa Vocational Academy
To assist impoverished orphans to cope with life through our
Children of Bududa
To provide small business loans to poor women through our
Bududa Women’s Development Group
We pursue our mission through Bududa Learning Center, a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Barbara Wybar, a citizen of both Canada and the United States of America, who came to the hills of Bududa as an unpaid volunteer in 2003. Bududa Learning Center is owned and operated by Bududa Canada Foundation, a non-profit corporation chartered in Canada and licensed to do business in Uganda. Bududa Learning Center is supported financially by both Bududa Canada Foundation and Bududa America Foundation. The entire leadership of our two foundations is composed of unpaid volunteers. Barbara Wybar continues unpaid as our dedicated Executive Director and inspiring leader of Bududa Learning Center.
